Prayer for our Retired Priests

Lord our God,
Source of our eternal salvation,
I pray for your most humble servants, our retired priests:

For their wisdom that shines like a lamp at our feet
May your love keep their path clear for future journeys
To help them always find their way home.

For every kind word and care they’ve given
May your mercy be a well of immeasurable depth
So that they may know true comfort.

For the strength they lent us in times of strife
May your light pierce through the darkest shadows
To let hope abide forever in their hearts.

For giving us our faithful shepherds
We thank you, Loving Father,
and ask you to look after them in retirement
Just as they have done for us, their grateful flock.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son,
and through the intercession of Mary, our beloved Mother.
